A-pillar exterior trim molding sealant?

66 Coronet, the chrome trim piece at bottom of pillar where it meets the top of the quarter. I need a sealer when I mount these pieces – 3 speed nuts from the interior. I was thinking windshield butyl sealer. It’s soft and looks like it would seal well. If the three points are not sealed, I can see water getting through there and onto the floor pans. I do not want to use silicone sealer. Anyone have a better idea or suggestion?

Found a dash speaker replacement

From Van’s Auto. Mine was shot. I’ll probably never hook it up but since I’m restoring the dash in the 66, I figured I should just go ahead and buy it ($40) to do a complete job on it. I’ll solder the leads on and leave it under coiled under the dash. Here’s pics.

Found dash speaker replacement for my 66 Coronet

Will probably never need it but since I’m doing a full-on restore of the dash couldn’t leave it out. I got it from Van’s Auto for $40 (not cheap!) but looks to be a upgrade of what was offered back in the day. Pics below

TTD’s with 2″ studs (disc brakes)

I decided to try out some 2″ studs when mounting my TTD’s – came out good with the Moroso black extended lug nuts: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mor-46330 . The nuts are 0.909″ long including taper (60* conical). Perfect fit and meets thread engagement requirements. 3/4″ socket fits well with the TTD wells too.

Set of 1966 Coronet (post) sedan front/rear window/windshield trim opinion

I have a extra set of front/rear window trim. It’s in nice shape… but goober drilled one hole in one piece of trim on each front and rear set. I located a nice non-drilled set for my car but I’m wondering if it would be worthwhile to get the stainless trim holes fixed and the trim polished to sell. What could I expect to get for nice polished front and rear trim for a 66 Coronet post/4DR car? Worth doing or just round file it? I have a local tig guy that does some fine work and it won’t…
