Thought I’d pass this on

Classic car could be destroyed even though no crime committed

I saw this today, to me it was a Damn stupid mistake by the restorer, but lesson 1, what flies in one state may not fly in another

Differential vent clogged?

My 1964 Imperial has a slight pinion seal leak, and a noticeable axle seal leak
Because of that I wanted to check the lube before I drove it much, it had plenty of lube, but when I took out the plug, it had pressure behind it, so I figure the vent is clogged
I read the FSM and it’s a hollow bolt that holds the rubber brake line, my question is, is it worth trying to unclog it, or just replace it with a new one?

Young’s orphan car show

Went to the youngs jersey dairy orphan car show today, not a big Mopar showing, but there were a few , more if you consider DeSoto a mopar

The Chrysler gods smiled on me today
I did the single to dual master cylinder conversion today, all the brake lines came loose, the distribution block I got from inline tube fit perfectly, all the old brake lines fit into the new block(with a little persuasion) the new master cylinder fit, I got the right length lines to go from the MC to the block, didn’t even have to bleed the brakes to get a pedal( but I plan to)

it was a small win, but considering the grief…

Synthetic vs non synthetic ATF

Ok, I’ve got a 1964 Imperial, pushbutton automatic that has a pan gasket leak
I’ve hunted high and low for +3-4 ATF that’s non synthetic and am having no luck
Is it ok to put synthetic fluid in it? Or should I keep searching?
The trans was rebuilt in 2011 if that makes any difference
Any leads on where I might find non synthetic? I’ve tried autozone, advance, NAPA, O’Reilly and even Wal Mart with no luck

Power window lubricant

I finally got a couple of the power windows working in my 64 Imperial, now time to take it all back apart, clean and lubricate the motors and slides
What does a everyone suggest? White lithium, good ole bearing grease, or something else?
Thanks in adv…

Power window repair

Finally dove into fixing my power windows on my 64 Imperial, I had hope because they still made noise, just didn’t move, here’s what I found

It looks like there is a rubber”sandwich” between the 2 gears that has broken
At this point what are my options?
Is this a common problem?
Is just the gear available anywhere? Or do I need to get the whole motor? What years will interchange?
Thanks in advance
