Stewart Warner gauge install project….
SW ‘Green Line’ gauges came late this afternoon today. Spent part of the day changing spark plugs. All 8 plugs were a nice tan/light brown. That’s a good thing!
Anyways, I didn’t realize the gauges didn’t come with the senders, so placed another order with Summit tonight. Good thing with Summit for me is they are in NV. Can usually place order, and get parts the next day since they are so close.

1969 300 OEM wheel size
Guys, trust me, I’ve been doing my research, looking for OEM wheel sizes for my ’69 300. My head is spinning from doing a 3 piece wheel build on my SL55. OMG!
Anyway, that SL project is done. Now working on some wheels for the 300. I currently have 15×8 Magnums on there now. I picked up some proper 15″ OEM hubcaps last year from a member here. Running stock drums all 4 corners. Have the parts to do a drum to disc conversion, but for just cruisin’ on weekends, drums are fine for now.

Bleeding powersteering pump…
Guys, I’ve been out of commission since October….ankle surgery.
Anyway, Before my surgery, I had replaced my PS pump. Watched videos, researched on internet, etc on how to bleed the pump. I jacked front end up so front wheels off ground, turned wheel full left/right at least over a 100 times, with motor off. Tried with motor on, still no good. I get fluid out of the return line to the pump, but seems to dribble. Fluid out of the pump flows nicely. Only reason I changed PS pump is because…

PS pump squealing like a pig when I get on the gas. Pulled the drive belt off while parked, no squealing. Pully moves up/down, side to side. Can the pully be spinning on the shaft or is my pump bad?

Stuck brake caliper piston…
So, all the parts starting to come in for the disc conversion. I got word today that the left caliper I ordered wont be shipping. Didn’t exist from seller. Anyway….
Both the old OEM calipers have pistons I can’t fully remove. Pistons come out maybe about a 1/2 inch. Can push pistons back in, use compressed air…and piston comes out about 1/2″
Thinking about rigging up a grease gun and brake fitting, and try that. Or maybe hook the caliper up to my current brake system, and use that to try…
Disc hardware questions
So…….got my spindles and disc setup from Barnfind…2 boxes. Issue with one of the boxes, surprise, surprise! Box kinda opened, and lost the baggy with some of the bolts. Questions…are the bolts anything special that hold the backing plates on to…
