ive been lurking for a while and now getting close (hopefully) to buying my first duster

I am not looking to get a race car, just a good daily driver/weekend warrior

so, what should I look for ?
I know I want a V8 but will the 318 be sufficient ?

right now I own a 2.0 turbo Passat which has good up and go and the wifeys winterbeater 08 charger 3.5 which is a total dog

i have the chance to buy a 71 demon with a 318-904-8.75-3.55 posi
now, if i were to get this car it would mean my VW passat would have to leave and this little demon would be my only means of transportation during the upcoming michigan winter

according to the seller it needs a freeze plug replaced and new ball joints and tie rods
id imagine this car to be a deathtrap in the winter without the front end parts replaced but im afraid if i pass up on…
