Steering coupler “pot” dowel pin help

How difficult is it to get the dowel pin out of the steering shaft? I hammered on mine for a little while and then thought to use the WWW. I didn’t find much so here I am. Some info said use a press and I don’t own one (yet). I have a kit with all new parts so destroying the pin isn’t a problem and may actually be prefered . :D
Thanks

I just stumbled upon this. I am not the seller and I have nothing to do with the vehicle. I just thought I’d post it because I think it is a really nice car.

For information only – input seal for PS gear box

National Oil Seal 7188S: Advance Auto Parts
After spending far too long trying to get this number I figured it might help someone else out one day. All I needed was the seal for the input shaft so I finally found is after removing mine and measuring etc.

Leaking power steering gear

I know I’ve been piling on here with all the problems I’m chasing. Last evening I found another. The power steering gear has been leaking for a long time but I haven’t been able to see where the leak was coming from until last evening because the leak was so small. I got under the car and I can see that it’s leaking from the cross (sector) shaft oil seal on the end opposite the pitman arm . My FSM shows that this can be replaced while the gear is still in the car but it seems to only show…

Android based phone

I have major problems using this site on my galaxy cell phone. Are there any tips for using a smart phone with forcbodiesonly? I can get on the site and look around fine but typing posts, replies etc is extremely slow. The text doesn’t appear when typed and there is a huge lag. Sometimes extra letters get added to words and/or the box where I am typing goes off the screen. If this happens I can’t scroll to where I was and I have to get creative trying to find where I left off.
Thanks

Gas pedal with bad “feel”

My gas pedal has never had a good feel. I have messed with springs and it still feels bad. It is more difficult to depress than I’d like. The main issue is that the transition from idle (no foot presure) to light throttle is difficult to do smoothly. It takes an amount of pressure that causes me to press the pedal too far once I get the pedal started. I don’t know if this is a good description but it’s all I can’t think of. Is there a better combination of springs behind, and in front of,…

Anyone else sand their whitewall tires today?

Yup. That’s what I did today. The tires on my car are nearly new from a tread wear standpoint. Unfortunately they have been sitting still much too long and the whitewalls had somehow become very yellow to almost a light brown. I tried all the usual whitening agents but nothing helped so I broke out the 3″ D/A sander and sanded them all down to nice bright white rubber bands. I used 3 grades of paper up to 1000 grit and finished by putting some vinyl and rubber “dressing” on them. I don’t…
