Max compression for pump gas iron head
What is the maximum compression ratio that can be run with good 93 octane pump gas in an iron headed motor. I am building a 318 with 302 casting heads and want to get the highest compression ratio possible without getting too close to the ragged edge of detonation on good pump gas. The machine shop will be decking the block to get my ratio just where I want it with the 59cc heads so I could really use your advise. thx
how did these cars come from the factory
been curious as to was the paint on these cars, back when they were in a dealership, a orange peel textured or wet sanded? if they were wet sanded did someone physically wet sand the car or was it a machine? or even today are cars that roll of the assembly line wet sanded or do they use different paints or methods to not create an orange peel?
Tunnel question
Okay, I’ve been reading everything here I can find, but the Noob has a question. I have a 71 dart, was a column shift auto car. Nothing is in it right now and I was pondering selling the 727 and doing a 4sp.
Here is the question- Folks keep talking about needing a different trans tunnel. Why??? I have some ideas, but would love to get the straight stuff.
For Sale Frustration!
I’m admittedly new to Mopars and A bodies, but have been in other car addictions for years and have never had this happen so much.
Someone puts an ad in saying “I’ve got these parts for sale” I email, pm them or both and get NOTHING back. Are these folks just yanking my chain?
Other forums I’ve been on were really good at replying at least. I need several small things and a couple bigger items so I keep hitting folks that are parting out a car, trying for the one place, several things gig….
drive shaft help ? wat do i need ?
got a 76 duste have a 383 and 727 for it need a rear and wat drive shaft am i use my slant 6 one ? that would fit the 8 an 3/4 rear ? thanks angelo
