I recently had my rearend soda blasted and they recommended that I replace the seals and the bearings and hosing out the interior. Can I get away with using a solvent to clean out the bearings and repack them and install a new interior seal? If I should replace the bearings what is the best way to remove and install them?

I have an older Weiand pn 8007 dual-plane intake for a small block that I don’t need anymore. Its in nice shape, nice threads, no cracks, it really hasnt been used much. *I’ve just had a small block 360 rebuilt. It now has a terrible tick on the driver’s side.* *It has a hydraulic cam and lifters. The oil pressure on startup is 40 lbs at idle and when the engine’s warm pressure drops to about 10 – 12 lbs at idle. The motor has about 45 minutes drive time on the rebuild and at one point the noise went away for 20 minutes or so. ’83-’89 Ram truck clip are the same, and available at the dealer for $2.00 each. A ebay gouger wanted $10.00 *EACH !*

Can someone explain to me the point/need of using lead supplement? I was thinking I had to at first, never added any, and have always been curious to what it would do, or if I should be added always, or from time to time??

Motor is 70 340, stock internals, with LD340, headers, cam..
