A month of C body adventures…

Normally I would post this into each individual car build thread, but that’s a hell of a thing to try and do with this…

Start with the top of the month…

Drove up to Midland to look at what was or should have been a 440 powered New Yorker, instead I found a completely roached, bastardized 69 New Yorker with a mystery B engine in it, it looks like it has 383 manifolds, water pump valve covers etc, but a 400 intake, etc. It’s certainly not a $1k car….the racoon shit and the rockers…

B engine shortblock

Looking for a 383, or 400 shortblock for my 69 Sport Fury. Just want to be able to get it running while I rebuild the matching numbers block.

Ideally looking for a running engine or just a good known shortblock, will even consider buying a complete parts car.

I’m located in south central Ontario Canada, but I’ve got a passport and I’m not afraid of hopping in my Ram and travelling.

Here we go again…

Finished prepping the truck yesterday and adjusted the trailer brakes, repacked the bearings and replaced the valve stems this week…..ready for a 7.5 hour drive each way….

It’s a sickness isn’t it?

’69 Fury III Convertible Build Thread- Project IVY

Well here goes, going to post it up as I go. Lets start by telling the story and getting it going. I always wanted a Classic, I started looking this past summer, was just about to buy a Green ’69 Impala and then I spotted these on the local Kijjiji for Scrap value, So I went and looked, ended up coming home as the owner of two ’69 Fury III Convertibles for $400. The next day we loaded up the first car, the Good car, at this point I wasn’t sure why I was told it was the good car. So the day…

My Non-C Body Plymouth Orphan

I have 4 Plymouths, of them, this is my only non-C Body. Sadly the M bodies, especially Canadian variants are sort of shunned around my area, even by the supposed Mopar guys.

So anyway. What is it and how it came to join my fleet…

I’ve always loved the looks of the M body, especially the Police package cars, they really looked tough to me.

Fast forward to 2016. My friend calls me and tells me there is a 85 Caravelle for sale for $450, the guy says it’s a old police car.

I run down…

1969 Sport Fury

So….let me start off with……..Hi, I’m Nick and I’m a Fury-aholic…..

A friend spotted this car while out backroad cruising one afternoon…he passed the info along to me.

I followed up on it today and struck a deal, I’ll drag it back home this coming weekend…

The basic info and backstory is;

original owner from the Brantford area was coming down his lane-way and clipped the stone pillar at the end, backed it back into his garage and gave up driving. He passed, his family sold it…

Small blocks

In planning for the rebirth of my 69 convertible, I have come to the point of engine. The car it’s self is (was) a E44 318 2 barrel car. When I purchased it, it had a 78 360 in it. I sold it and found a good used 69 318 that had previously been rebuilt.

At this point I’ve spent too much time thinking about what I could do to tweak things. When I played around with that 318, it ended up with a 68 340 automatic grind cam, 86 #302 swirl port heads, 68 340 intake, Edelbrock 500 CFM w/ electric…
