I have a '67 Cuda with a 273 Commando V8 with approximately 72,000 original miles. The other day I was on the turnpike and I was only able to hit a top speed of 92 mph. I had the pedal pegged for about 10 seconds after reaching that speed. Does that "top speed" seem low to you guys?
The car runs nice, accelerates really well, and has had impeccable maintenance. The tranny is also in tip-top shape. A top speed of 92 mph seems rather low???
Before anyone starts ranting, the speed limit on that particular stretch of the turnpike is 75 mph. There was absolutely no one on the road and I was on the express lane. Many times I've been driving on that same stretch of the turnpike in my '06 Corolla traveling 75 mph and cops have zoomed by me as if I was traveling 75 mph in REVERSE. :burnout:
