365 Street Stormer
The build is about as basic and unassuming as it can get--'86 360 truck block, 4.030" Probe
flat-tops with a cusom dish, Magnum rods w/ARP bolts, stock crank .020/.020, Comp Magnum 280H cam,
stock stamped rockers/shafts/ "Stealth" ported J heads 2.02/1.60 valves flow 245 cfm @ .450", baffled truck pan
and the wild card-a ported Edelbrock Torker 340 manifold.
I say wildcard because this manifold is shatty! By shatty I mean--SMALL!
I used it on a circle track build a few years ago.
I thought it may be a good fit with a 10-1 comp 360 2bl. It wasn't--371 hp was observed which was way under the 415hp when a Weiand X-celerator was on it. I can't leave well enough alone so I took the Edelbrock manifold as a personal challenge and spent about 15 hrs on it.
I carved and I carved and I carved.
The runners are still way too short for big torque but this engine is slated for an early gen
Dak with a 5 spd, the emphasis here is on getting the right cross section and straightening the curves as much as possible. Looking at it I think it willbe surprising. Remembering just how small the plenum and runners were before, I don't know what I was thinking using it
unported in the first place! This should be on the pump by next Saturday. Anyone care to
guess on HP/TQ and at what RPM? J.Rob
