2014

Been a while since I've been here, had a pretty good year with the '36. Placed first in class at the Mega Mopar Action series in Memphis in June, had it in a calendar shoot later in the summer, got lots of attention at the Delta River Cruisin rod run at Sams Town Casino in Tunica, MS and this past weekend was at a car show at the Blue Angels airshow in Millington, TN where it took a $250 cash prize plus I was able to take some pics of it beside a B-25 Mitchell.

Been getting a lot done on it too this year, swapped out the seats for a pair of black leather PT Cruiser seats and fitted a rear jump seat from a 2002 Dakota club cab. The interior is now officially ready for the upholstery shop after 12 years. I'm building a raised floor in the trunk right now to conceal the spare tire, jack and provide a little extra storage space to keep spare oil, etc out of sight, should be able to finish that this week. One of the gears in the drivers window regulator lost a couple of teeth over the summer and somehow just as I was getting ready to have a new one made on a water jet I managed to locate a NOS gear for it, saving me a fortune.

The new 360 is breaking in fine, running like a stripe assed ape. Oil pressure is higher than I'd like- he put in a high psi pump- but as long as it doesn't spew out the breather cap I'll survive. It runs nice and cool, it's only been over 200 once due to a bad fan relay on a hot Memphis summer day; new relay and it runs 180-185 all day long. In fact yesterday I put about 100 miles on it and it never got over 160, cool 50 degree morning helped that. I'm headed to Panama City Beach in a couple weeks for Emerald Coast Cruizin so that will be its first long trip with the new engine. The only issue I have as of right now is a drippy front pump seal in the Torqueflite, more annoying than anything else, just a drip, I haven't had to add any fluid since I installed it last year but it leaks onto the exhaust and smokes for the first five minutes after sitting a week.

Oh, best thing of all, I've lost 65 pounds this year. So it's been a good one so far...
