70 cuda electrical problem again

My 70 cuda- 318, electronic ignition conversion, Amp gauge bypassed as described on here. My voltage is all over the place on my voltage gauge(after market). When idling it goes down to about 11 volts. With lights on, at idle volts are about 10 volts. With turn signal on the volts fluctuate 2 volts while flashing. I have an electric choke on my 4bbl Holley carb. The voltage on the electric leads to the choke are about 9 volts with the ignition switch in the ON position, which used to be 12 volts. This leads me to think is why the car is hard to start because sometimes the choke won't close when the engine is cold. The carb backfires through the carb alot lately. I checked the timing and it's right about 4 degrees btdc. I use a MOPAR performance voltage regulator, if that matters. I'm leaning to a bad coil, as I still have the old original factory one on the car. Actually, I'm lost as to the problem. Any help will be appreciated.
