I am putting together as list of components that I may upgrade during the rebuild of my 383 and I need some advice. My 1970 Road Runner is a nice driver not a track car. Aluminum heads and other mods will take it to around 475HP and a 10:1 compression ratio.
I am currently running a Mopar Performance brand electronic distributor. Are there any advantages in switching to an MSD (#8386) Ready to Run distributor or a Pertronix (#751-D142710) Flame Thrower Plug n Play? I am also thinking of adding an MSD ignition control box. Since it is not a track car do I need the box that has the built in rev limiter? That costs about $40 more.
