I am changing carpet in my 1966 Fury III. Car has bucket seats and when seats and carpet were removed I was surprised to find 3/4" plywood under carpet behind each seat and a 2 x 2 under one side of the bucket seats. The 1966 manual does show the plywood but doesn't reference the 2 x 2 mounted to each seat. Is the plywood and 2 x 2 needed? Did previous over just use the 2 x 2 to raise the seats? I'm at a loss.
