Ok, since I was bringing down a 289 intake for hot tanking I thought I would bring down my very heavily caked timing cover. Thought I would remove the seal and saw what looked like a flange on the outside. I'm going this is very different from the way Ford did it. So I go to the FSM to take a look. What? The FSM shows a unique tool for removing and inserting the seal and I don't have that. Who does?
Is it needed or is there a way around?
