There's always one guy that you just can't pass without the cars banging together. This one guy tonite is a guy that shows up sporadically. There's 2 or 3 of us that are fast and run up front. Then there's guys like this that are .500 off the pace in some rusty POS and take it personally when the fast cars try to pass them. They're only ahead of us because of inverts or the draw. I tried for about 5 laps to go by him clean on the outside and he rode me up to the fence everytime. So I thought Dude, you like the outside I'll try the bottom. Suddenly he likes the bottom too and starts trying to run me into the grass. Finally I had enough and stuck it down in there into 3. Crash bang boom. I went thru the grass and he went up the hill, but I got the spot and in 2 laps was 20 cars ahead of him.
After the race what does he do? He plows me from behind IN THE PITS where people and kids are walking around and such. I locked up my brakes and came out of that car like Jack the Bear. Then his buddy gets in my face. They were hurling threats and BS.
Man. I'm leading the points I don't need this crap but at the same time I can't have neanderthals thinking they can intimidate and shove me around. It ain't gonna happen.
I was derbying 65 Imperials when these cats were pooping thier diapers. If they want to start a derby on the track they'll loose. The ole Daytona is 70% race car and 30% derby car and takes on all comers. Everytime I run accross one of these guys its the same story. We get together. Their poorly prepared turd car usually gets the worst of it and they always finish behind me. So why do they drive like that?
I have ZERO problem with good hard racing between drivers who respect each other. If the cars get together, its part of the game. But when contact is malicious like it was tonite, you have to draw the line.
How do you guys deal with drivers like this. We're racing for points and a championship. I can't just ride around behind him because he doesn't want me to pass.
