The weakest link

My coil looked ugly and it was the wrong one. So I ordered up a 8140M ACCEL unit. It is engineered to replace 79-92 Mopar coils exactly, no resistor required as original. Well it started missing in the second heat. I fired a set of plugs in it to see if it would help. It didn't. 5 laps into the feature, it just quit. Had to get towed off. I was worried that the hot coil had fried the Ignition Driver in my SBEC. Got home checked it out. The ignition primary was working as it should, but nothing coming out the secondary.
My new coil was seemingly burnt up inside after only a few minutes use.
Put an old crap rusty 1981 coil from some scrap K-car and it fired right up like a champ.
Just what I need when I'm leading the points. Check the box, Made in CHINA.
Thanks ACCEL
Maybe I'll try a LUCAS one next ?!?!?!
