"stock" parts

Grabbed our 3rd feature of the season tonite. All was well til the tech guy had a close look at our suspension. He didn't like that he found polyeurethane bushings in the control arms. We are supposed to have all stock parts. I have always thought that a poly bushing that is application specific is a stock replacement part. Its just made out of better stuff. I have changed my junk factory plugs, wires, cap/rotor,shocks, brake pads, tie rods, ball joints lubricants, and who knows what else with application specific higher quality items. They're the same as the bushings. They're stock parts made out of better stuff. I lost the debate. Oh well, he's the boss!. It'll have new rubber ones in it next week. I'll have to tweak a couple things to make up for the slight deflection of the rubber but I don't forsee any great hit to how it turns.
Now I know what you guys all talk about. Figure out how to make your car fast and how to drive it and the target gets painted on your back.
Now on top of that if rumors of bushingate get out, I'll be branded a cheater. I can live with that if the wins keep coming.
My car isn't fast, the rest of them are slow!
