So how does a stock block 6.1 take to mods. Well, grantid that it's a more developed engine stock than the 340's I grew up on so you have a higher bar but it still responds well to mods. A tipical stock 6.1 will dyno 350 to 370 on this dyno, which is a little conservative if anything. These two pulls are a 08 6.1 charger SRT Max cam only with a cat back exhaust and cold air intake CMR tuned for the cam. The Other is an 06 SRT 300 C stock exhaust, Spartan Max cam, stock valve cnc ported heads, ported intake manifold and CMR tuned. I was Kind of blown away with this car as with the stock exhaust it's quiet just an induction roar like a Q jet but Nothing with a Q jet and a stock exhaust so you can hear the induction roar will run 11's in a 4500 Lb car. Think about it a high 11's 4500 lb quiet car that gets 23 mpg highway is stock reliable and has AC that works fine in 110 TX summers. This Engine in a 3600 LB E Body would do low 11's and possibly 10's and get 27 mpg with a good over drive tranny and the spartan max cam idles like a stocker. I've actually used that cam for SRT guys that don't want the wife to know they put a cam in and not one has been busted yet. SRT Max will make some more HP but you got to tell the wife.
