Does anyone know the diameter width of a typical B-body
power steering pump Large-O-RING seal. I seem to recall
its the P.S. steering resevior (**on TRW units and possibly
on FEDERAL-THompson units ) has a Inner Diameter
a little larger than 4.5" (possibly 4 9/16 or 4 5/8). Which
obviously Implies the O-RING needs to measure about
4 5/8 outer diameter.
The Reason being is the Most B-body car owners always joke
about the proverbial 'LEAKING power steering pump".
***Well, it doesnt have to be that way just because most $50 cost
P.S. Steering Gasket kits dont have a Correctly sized Large
O-ring, and hence still alow "Fluid to leak thru the shell".
**It seems going out to a INdustrial seal business is the way to
go (for example www. motionindustries.com or ,
to just name a '"FEW").
Any comments .. I'm much obliged....
EDIT.....Got to have at lease 3 post to insert a link...
