Parasitic fan power loss

OK, While not specifically a Mopar only thing, how much power can be gained by moving an engine with a fan on a fan clutch to an electric fan?

I hear that removing the fan that has a fan clutch to an electric can can yield as much as 10Hp. I think for non-race applications this is over rated and an excuse to sell electric fans.

Is there any documented proof on non race applications that a cooling fan consumes that much power? Isn't that the purpose of the clutch on the fan to help reduce drag under the hood? Once again, I'm not talking about a fan that runs when the engine runs.

Thanks for whatever discussion ensues.....:yeah that:
