Camshaft Nitriding

Has anyone had their flat tappet camshaft nitride infused? I am thinking about having this done for the 408 for the ’69 Barracuda in order to increase the case hardness and lobe surface lubricity (is that really a word? ;). Comp will charge me an additional $105 on top of their custom grind fee. I have flattened my share of solids in the past and am seriously considering this. I would just like to hear from those who have had it done and also from anyone with pros/cons. TIA.

Fluctuations

I had a bunch of Canadian dollars I needed to exchange, so I went to the currency exchange window at the local bank. Just one lady in front of me, an Asian lady who was trying to exchange yen for dollars and she was a little irritated …..

She asked the teller, ‘Why it change? Yesterday, I get two hunat dolla fo yen. Today I get hunat eighty? Why it change?’ The teller shrugged his shoulders and said, ‘Fluctuations’.

The Asian lady says, ‘Fluc you white people, too’…. “Why it change”?

Two window questions?

On the front edge of the door glass there is a plastic/felt molding or run channel guide. What is it called and does anybody make them. The other question is the lower pivot piece of the a-frame window does anybody re-chrome these or sell them new. What have you done with yours?

45RFE trans

My friend’s 99 grand cherokee 4.7/45RFE has recurring “wrong ratio 4th ” codes and has gone into a hard shifting, limp home mode. Nothing in the pan, fluid looks clean and does not smell burnt. We are planning to pull it out, any pitfalls I need to know about on these tranny’s? this will be my first one.
