Cylinder Head Swap blues….

So I just finished swapping cyl heads (J’s for ported X’s) along w/ intake, carb, starter, plugs & wires, coil, alternator and it fired right up! Yea! Thanks to the new mini-starter and carb. Idle’s fine and nice. However it’s popping/snapping intermitantly when you blip the gas or hold it between 1500-3000. Above 3000 it seems to smooth out (no popping). replacing rod bolts

When is considered time to replace them?When the engine was cheapy rebuild the first time,I installed new rod bolt nuts from the dealer.the engine leaked oil badly from the cam plug,so the engine only had 300 miles on it.It is now sitting apart waitting for it’s next adventure.And if it is considered replacement time,any tips for doing this at home?If it matters,the engine is a 73 360 from a 3/4 pick-up,has 125,000 miles on it,always a 2-bbl intake/carb,with the rebuild it got a 340…

looking for a 73 swinger around pittsburgh

just curious,

i owned a yellow 1973 swinger and sold it around 1995 in the pittsburgh area. saw it once or twice after that and was just curious if anyone has ever saw it. when i owned it, it was a 318 car bone stock except for duals and ralley wheels. it was originally painted metallic brown with a black vinyl top and black interior. i painted it yellow with the black hood and black bumble bee stripe. when i last saw it, it had a 340 scoop and it was for sale on rt 22 in murrysville…
