under coatings and seem sealer

Anyone know of a good under coating that looks like the factory stuff ?
What about a thick black seam sealer that looks like the factory stuff ? I usually use the 3M brushable stuff, It works well but doesnt look correct.

Holy Smoke

I just started my freshly rebuild motor and it is smokeing like crazy – I did put a good bit of oil on the pistons and down the cylinder during assembly as I was told to do by the service manual. Is this normal? how long should it last before I get worried? can I expect it to clear up without driving anywhere or will it take driving under load to clear it out?
Thanks for any help, Bill

Exploding voltage regulators

Help…..Ive recently helped a friend with a S6 to 360 conversion. We first tried a new powermaster alternator that had two field connections. We grounded one and landed the green wire to the other. Once fired, it put out 18 volts and melted a lead in the old voltage regulator….at the same time, I believe, we stressed the electrical wiring.

Anyway we figured the new alt was to much so we changed back to the original alt with one field wire. We had noticed that we melted the green wire…
