After much thrashing to find an over heating problem, a leaky core plug lead to discovering that my 340 water jackets were many inches deep with rust. It seems that the original owner in Lakeland Fla. never found a reason to run antifreeze. I pulled the motor, then popped all the core plugs and flushed, and voila!
