A Minute of Meditation
A little boy was visiting his grandparents on their farm. He was given a
slingshot to play with. He practiced but could never hit the target. Getting
discouraged, he headed back home. As he was walking he saw Grandma’s
pet duck. On an impulse, he let the slingshot fly, and hit the duck square in
the head and killed it. He was shocked. In panic he hid the dead duck only to
see his sister was watching!
Later his grandma said, “Sally let’s wash the dishes,” but Sally said,
“Grandma, Johnny told me he wanted to help in the kitchen,” then she
whispered to her brother, “Remember the duck!” After several days of hearing
“Remember the duck!”, the little boy couldn’t stand it any longer. He came to
his grandmother and confessed that he had killed the duck.
Grandma gave him a hug and said, “Sweetheart, I know. You see, I was watching at the window and I saw the whole thing, but because I love you, I forgave you. I was just wondering how long you would let your sister make a slave of you!
Don’t you imagine that God is wondering how long you will let Satan make a slave out of you!
