Lucky to be a MOPAR guy. FORDS suck.

WEll, burnt up another POS small block FORD today. The first one in my inherited Crown Vic melted down after about 40 laps. It was a 351W from a scrap car. I never touched a thing on it.
I took that out and put in a 302. BUT I learned my lesson from the first one. I put a set of Clevite bearings in it. I put a Melling oil pump and a Canton windage tray. Went for practice tonite and it was a strong little motor. But after 30 laps the oil pressure started to go away. I stopped before anything broke, but its definately fried. I only turn them to 4800. I use 20W50 Penzoil with a qt of Lucas Stabilizer. I overfill by 1 QT because we're not allowed kickout pans.
Am I doing something wrong? Are these FORDS feeble? Is it just bad luck?
I should have just cut the cage out and put it in a MOPAR
The scrapyard 2.5 in my Daytona has been cranking between 5 and 6000 for 2 years now and is still perfect.
