Does anyone know what's involved with lapping new valves? This is going to go into my 2.2 TI Chrysler Lebaron, but I assume it's all the same, no matter what engine you're working on. Anyway, I posted this on another forum so here it is:
"I have an '84 "G" head. It's been totally disassembled, baked, combustion chanbers polished, has some mild porting, and is ready for reassembly.
"I have the hand-help lapper and need to know the process beyond that.
"-Do the valve guides need to be reinstalled for this?
-How many times is enough?
-How often do I change add/change the lapping compound?
-What results (if any) am I going to see on the valves and head?
"Thanks in advance!"
