1 John 2:14 – I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one. (NKJV)
While we have been forgiven of our sins, we still must work at living a life that overcomes sin. The apostle John makes it clear that it is possible for us to overcome sin and Satan. Pray for your fellow believers that they would be strong. Pray that the Word of God would abide in their hearts. The psalmist David confessed, “Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against you.” If you see a brother start to struggle with sin, pray that he would overcome the temptation. Pray for those that are not struggling so they will continue to live a life that overcomes sin.
