i need advise on a cam

i got a crower cam today, it has never been installed and still in the factory crower box.
here is what the spec sheet says
there is a date stamp on the upper left corner of the card-aug 7 1987
grind# 300-hbn
rocker ratio 1.5:1

advertised duration
intake 300degree
exhuast 310degree

intake lift .530" clearance(hot) .000"
exhaust lift .512" clearance(hoy) .000"

cam timing @ .050" tappet lift
intake opens 15degree btdc
closes 43degree abdc
exhaust opens 54degree bbdc
closes 10degree atdc

duration @ .050 intake 238degree
exhaust 244degree

lobe seperation 108 degree
intake lobe lift .352"
exhaust lobe lift .339"

if using lobe center method of degreeing cam should be installed on the intake center line of 104degree atdc.

heres my question, should i build the engine around this cam or put it on the shelf for trading stock? the car is a 2ton 78 dodge magnum that i want to go fast with. it has a 400 in it now but next winter i will pull it out and go thru it. what piston compression, t-converter should be used? i have a set of heads that came off a 383-stamping# 2406516 that i have, are these worth putting new valves, retainers/locks and springs in?
