Hypereutectic piston not fitting cylinder

Well this is a first, never had this issue with other brands of Hypereutectic pistons, guess it's just a KB thing. Working on a 400 build that we are doing for a fellow Army Vet. The pistons were donated for the build are KB 240's. Block was machined .060 over. If you invert the piston, aka flat top into bore as for squaring rings, the piston fits and has the recommended clearance between the wall and the piston as per the tech at KB. But when mocking for a test fit in any cylinder, the skirts barely touch into the cylinders. It is as if you would really have to force them to get them to fit.The tech said it is normal for KB's to have a tight skirt to wall clearance and that once the motor heats up the pistons skirt will reduce in size, aka from metallurgy. Have any of you run into this? The bores are within spec, and the piston measures within the specs suggested by KB pistons.
