We started the feature on the outside of the third row. On the first lap I had to give up a couple of spots in order to get to the bottom to start working my way up. Got to the leader by lap 5. It took a few laps of pressure before he slipped up a bit and I was able to get by on a bump and run. I had him cleared and in my mirror by halfway. From then on it was pretty comfortable and #34 cruised to an easy half straightaway victory in the 20 lap feature.
It was truly a great feeling to get our first win .Post race tech was a little tense with the inspector suspecting illegal wheel spacers on the right side. We removed a wheel and showed we were legal. As usual, if a MOPAR wins, it must be cheating.
Probably the highlight of our night was before the feature even started. When we were lining up for the start, The announcer introduced me as a hard "charging, aggressive driver" and advised the crowd to watch for some "action" as #34 made its way to front. WOW, only 4 weeks in racing and I already have a reputation!
I would say a more accurate description of my driving style is- "very impatient behind slowpokes", but isn't everyone? Its the bi-product of their stupid inverted starts.
