Compression

My 1965 361 came from the factory with 516 closed chamber heads.

According the 1965 factory manual I have the specs are.

With the 2 barrel
265 HP at 4400 rpm
380 ft/lbs at 2400 rpm
( I now have a 4 barrel and 383 magnum cam)

9 to 1 compression

Currently my car has a good set of rebuilt 452 heads. I know they are open chamber. Would this alone drop the compression below 8.5 to 1?. Was this swap a big power killer over the closed chamber heads?

I'm thinking about rebuilding the 516 heads and put them back on. Since I only drive about 5000 miles a year, hardened seat shouldn't be an issue. I also think since the engine is small displacement, I really don't need to install the big exhaust valve.

What do you think?
