Chrome box with a slant 6… ???

During the race last weekend it seemed like my motor stopped gaining RPM at the top of 2nd gear but did not rev high enough for the transmission to want to shift into third (at WOT)...

The ignition is the factory points ignition. I'm thinking because of the points, it is limiting the motors ability to rev higher... ???

I've got a friend that would send me an slant 6 electric distributor. I have got a mopar chrome box sitting on my shelf - but would it work for the slant 6? How do I configure it to work with 6 cylinders instead of 8?

Is there anything else I need for the conversion from points to electric ignition?
