anyone ever done a heater core in my generation ram with a disaster of a dashboard, broken up, caved in beyond repair dashboard.? Once off the firewall and kick panels, will it ever go back…….? Help please

Building a couple wrecked pickups into one. Building an 01 body with a 96 parts truck. I’ve found the heater and a/c cores are the same. I am wondering if anyone knows if can I pull the entire hvac box from the 96 and put in the 01?
