We removed stock cam shifting @ 4000rpm and installed comp cams 268/444 Now shifting @ 5000 we set this straight up for now. Did loose some 60′ time and made it up on the other end with over 4mph better. This change cost less than $150 bucks. Don’t think my MSD I am installing will make that much he he any change to the negative in my E.T. would be fine. Still a stock slant block and head with some bolt on’s not bad. 16.30 @ 82mph 3150lbs without me in the car.

I was just wondering what degrees of timing you racers run.
base and total,,,,,and do you run with vacuum advance?
I have a 360,xe-268 cam,edelbrock heads,about 10.5 cr.

For the racers, what rules apply for helmets? Im assuming the helmet I use while riding the m/c is probably not up to track rules?? Its a DOT, 1/2 helmet. Do you need full face?? Thanks

The rules say that I need a .024 steel or .032 aluminum rear firewall because I have a trunk mounted fuel cell. Can I just make covers for the three speaker openings in the package shelf and then fab a three piece cover for the opening behind the seat or does it need to be one piece? Does it need to be welded solid or can I stitch weld it and silicone any minor openings?

I decided to remove my front bumper last weekend to see if the car would transfer weight better…I was shocked at how much the car picked up! The front bumper with brackets weighed 30.6 pounds and the car picked up 5 hundredths in the 60 foot (1.57 to 1.52), and a tenth in the 1/4 mile! Not to bad for 30 lbs. Just thought I’d share.

I just got a race weight glass deck lid and going to put me wing on it.The wing goes past the bumper no more than 1″.How much pressure is put on the lid? Does it need alot of bracing? This is on a 72 Duster.
