Ok, working with a 340 built 70 stock compression,heads,340 torquer manifold, edelbrock carb. I removed my old purple shaft Direct Connection cam. Replaced it with stock cam, thought id just line up dot to dot, nope had problem. One I most likely created. Cant advance or retard timing at distrib. Cant see marks on the balancer. Will own start at one point, she will drive but no power. Starts on a dime. LOL no power at all. I assume Im a tooth off somehow. Start Over? Ive never centerline a cam myself Im ashamed to say, always had someone do it, What tools do I need, and is there a video of small block camshaft installation.
Before I do all that Yall got a good cam suggestion to show off the power but still streetable for this application one or two steps up from stock.
