I read in the service manual the temp range is 157 - 162, & will be fully open @ ~ 183. Bought the car in Jan 2024, nearly 100% original, with 48k miles from a mechanic who got it running last year. He owns a shop & works on a lot of cars, and can't remember if he took the thermostat out, or not. The radiator has been flushed, some hoses replaced & it tends to runs hot, generally when driving faster on the fwy. Temporarily installed a new temp gauge to get an accurate idea of the true temp...
