Running in my new flat tappet mild Lunati 213/220 @ .050 kit incl. lifters, new stamped steel rockers and new pushrods, about .055 preload.

383 intake manifold changes AFR big time

I’ve been posted this tread in difference places hoping to get answers that could help me…
To make a long story short.
This winter I change from Mopar M1 dual plane intake mainifold to the manifold that all recommended for my mild 383 .030 over, decked block, Lunati 256/262 @050 213/220, Speed Pro flat top pistons @about 0.0 in the hole, 915 heads, 650 AVS2 and Mopar HP exhaust manifold with wideband AFR meetering about 40″ from the closest exhaust valve.

Rebuild 383 bottom end

My old 383 -66 bottom end is worn out and I’ve got my hands on an rebuild .030 bottom end with new bearings and Sealed Power/Speed Pro L2315NF30 forged piston.

Auburn limitet slip, something missing?

Bought a brand new newer opened Auburn 542051 but shuoldn’t there be any preload springs?

727 issue

Overhauled a -72 727 a couple of years ago because my -66 727 didn’t shift like I want, anyhow this weekend I decide to shift gearbox to the overhauled 727.
I bought an used converter to fit the “newer” 727 splines.

Got it all together and filled it up with aboul 7 qts but when I start it up a could hear a metallic sound like as there was something that hit something, double check the flexplate bolts but they where tight and right torqued.
Start it up again and let it warm up in N and then…

741 or 742 rear end?

Got a good deal on 3.23 gears but I’m away and can’t remeber if i’ve got 741 or 742 on my 383/727/2.76 -66 Polara.
Whats most likly that my car got from factory, 41 or 42?
