Thoughts on the value of a 1959 Dodge Coronet?

I’ve been thinking about buying a 1959 Dodge Coronet. There don’t seem to be a lot of those out there for sale. I’ve seen a few 4 door cars that run and drive for around $8-12k. As expected, 2 door cars are more expensive. So what is a fair price for a 2 or 4 door that does not run and needs an engine rebuild and maybe some floor/trunk repairs?

Thanks!!

1958 Plymouth 318 – four barrel rebuild kit??

My car runs ok but been thinking I should rebuild the carb. Most shops around me charge $275 and up for that service and I’ve done a few rebuilds in the past and not hard. My question is, does anyone know where to buy a rebuild kit for the factory Carter/AFB 4 barrel carb that came on the 318 in 1958? Tried looking at some of the numbers on the carb but just not sure.

Thanks in advance.

Better/thicker 318 valve cover gasket – where to buy

Good morning all,

I’ve noticed that the Fel pro cork gaskets I used on my valve covers do not seem to be thick enough. I’m not sure if there is a slight bow in the valve covers, but once the three bolts are tightened down I can still move the lower edge in the center of the valve cover gasket back and forth. This is causing some oil to slowly splash and leak onto the exhaust manifolds. The cork gaskets also do not allow me to use the ears to bend over the prongs on the valve covers to…

1958 Plymouth Belvedere – over charging to 16v to 17v

My 1958 Plymouth Belvedere has the 318 engine with a generator. The car is now running well, except for some blow by, but I’ve noticed on the aftermarket gauges I added that at anything above idle the battery is getting around 16 volts. Some times it even goes up to 17 volts. I’ve checked this with a digital meter on the battery. I know this is not good for the battery and wondering if it’s just a bad voltage regulator or if there is anything else I should check? Thanks in advance.

1958 Plymouth Hubcaps – What is a fair price? Why so hard to find?

I’m wondering why the 1958 Plymouth hubcaps are so much harder to find than the 1957 Plymouth hubcaps. Is it because everyone wants a “Christine” car? Also, what is a fair price for a set of 4? If seen prices all over the place. Thanks.

1958 Plymouth back up light/lens assembly in the rear bumper

I’ve been looking around but can’t seem to find a back up light lens for my 1958 Plymouth Belvedere. I see lots of lenses on ebay but they are for the 1958 Plymouth Suburban. I’m assuming this lens would not work on my car but wanted to ask to confirm. If not, does anyone know a place that does have them? I’ve tried Big M auto but he did not have one.

Thanks.

1958 Plymouth Fury/Belvedere 14″ Hub caps

I’m looking for a set (4) 1958 Plymouth Fury/Belvedere 14″ hubcaps. I currently have a set of 1957 Plymouth hubcaps, but want to put the correct year set on my car. My car is no show car, so I’m ok if they have some scratches/nicks. Below is what they look like in case anyone is unsure.

If you have a set, please let me know. Thanks.
