A833 Lubricant

I remember when I use to own a 1977 D100 with a four speed A833OD. I can still picture the owner’s manual instructing to use ATF. At the time I thought it was odd, but after some trial and error I concluded ATF was the correct lubricant to use in that particular transmission.

Skip forward 42 years and so many different brands with different viscosity ratings, that it boggles the mind. The previous owner, of my ride, informed me he used a synthetic lubricant. Didn’t tell me which brand or…

A833 Reverse Detent Assembly

Going through the process of hunting down any leaks that cropped up on my ride. One caught my eye.

To best describe this, it is the large nut – with bolt – below the reverse light switch. Has anyone ever removed one with the transmission in place? I k…

Rearend Help

I have a limited slip eight and three-quarter inch rear end on my Challenger. It has 10 bolts the hold the center chunk to the rear end housing. Is there a torque sequence and can someone tell me what the foot pounds are on each of those bolts?

Thanks…

Ampere Gauge

Factory production rally instrument cluster.

Question – Can the amp gauge be wired in to a switched wire off the cluster (neg ground to frame) to work?

Will I need to wire from the alternator to gauge to battery?

Seems the new wiring kit, the previous owner purchased, omitted the amp gauge (Or I’m missing something and over thinking this). So while it looked official, it never worked since my purchase.

FYI – Factory tach works great, with MSD iginition, after updating electronics and…

Early Snow: Is It In Your Backyard?

I know there is going to be a few Canadian Members that might scoff at this since they had theirs a few week ago, but it snowed yesterday. October 10th?…Amazing to this old desert rat from AZ, now immersed in the Colorado Rockies. Thankfully, it didn’t stick where I am located. Otherwise, I would had jumped in the spa, taken a selfie and sent it back to all my old buds in the land of hot-hotter and you got to be kiddin’! Here’s a few photos;

Retro Seatbelts

Retro seatbelts!

I have been giving this a lot of thought lately and was wondering ‘if’ there is a mfr. that offers a lap/shoulder belt combo found in modern rides. Yes, I know there is no post and yes I know it would take away from the originality of the by-gone era. Just for some reason I get this sense of security when I am strapped in with both (I refuse to wear the original shoulder strap as it is a huge hassle to put back in place).

BTW – I did a power search online and struck out.
