I found a 73 duster on craigslist for sale that I’m really interested in. Husband and wife inherited it after her dad died, they don’t know too much about the car, but they believe it to be original paint. Engine bay looks to have been repainted at one time. Someone removed the factory stripe and painted one on.

What can I do to remove this paint? I don’t want to mess up the original paint, but I want to go back to a vinyl stripe if I pick up this car. The painted stripe kind of ruins it…

hey guys and gals, I hope you all had a great weekend. Ever since I bought my scamp I’ve have a rattle in my steering column. With I turn the wheel left or right, it sounds like metal scraping. Lately the rattle has been worse, to the point I can hear it over the exhaust and radio!

Can someone point me in the right direction on replacing it? Does this sound like the symptoms of a bad upper bearing?

Hey guys and gals. I was digging around under my dash today to replace a couple dash bulbs and when i finished up I pulled on the light switch and nothing happened. So I checked the side marker lights, and tail lights, still nothing. So I turned on the headlights, and they worked.

Speedo drive gear demolished!

I have been getting some vibrations from my car and narrowed it down to the trans, decided to put new bearings and a clutch kit in it. Instead of tackling this myself i took it down to my local transmission shop. After going for a ride with me he agreed that it was probably a tail shaft bearing, Instead of just trying a part here and there to fix it I decided to just buy a clutch and a bearing kit for the car since I didn’t know the history of the transmission.

Some quick help please

Ever since i bought this scamp it has a vibration above 2500 RPMs (no matter which gear you’re in). I’ve put new wheels and tires, had the driveshaft balanced, new u joints, and put in a new transmission mount. I still have the same vibration. The guy at the shop that balanced my driveshaft told me the slip yoke looked like it was wore out a little bit and I may need a new tail shaft bearing.

Sometimes if I accelerate rapidly it doesn’t vibrate, if I get the car about 3500-4000 RPM’s it…
