Oil Light Issue

Good Afternoon and Happy Mothers Day

A gremlin has decided to give me something to do.
The oil light comes on but the mechanical pressure gauge shows anywhere from 20 to 60 lbs depending on if the motor is idling or cruising down the road. Once on, it stays on.
The car is a ’65 Newport 383 2V. the crankcase if full. The oil (Shaffers 10W30) is about 6 months old. The filter (Wix) is also 6 months old. The motor was overhauled two years ago (Rings rods main bearings replaced along with…

Spark Plug Issue

Good Morning All.
Replaced the plugs in the ‘Party Barge’ (’65 Newport 383 Carter BBD point style ignition).
Six of the eight were dark tan ( I am OK with that as the ‘Barge’ has not been on any significant road trips this year) 2 plugs (#7 and #8) were gas fouled.
Wires are from Lectric Limited ( two years old). Plugs are Motorcraft #86. Cap is an Echlin MO2 , Points Echlin CS781, Condenser is also Echlin (can’t remember the part #. Other than the wires all the tune-up parts are New…

Manifold/Heat Riser/Parts

Good Day all and Happy Easter
Looking for heat riser parts for a ’65 383 Lo Po manifold.
This is for the aesthetics; not looking for functionally.
For the number crunchers, the kit part# is 2525081.
The counterweight part# 2465810.
If you have the manifold (casting # 2205535) with the complete valve, I would entertain that also.
Drop me a PM if you have leads.
Thanks to All

Good Morning All
Other than Imperial Services, is there any one else that fabs speedometer cables?
I was in contact with Steven at Imp Services, but all communication has ceased as of approx three weeks ago. E mails are unanswered and when you call your are directed to a voice mail box that is full.
Don’t know what is going on.

Sending Unit Recommendations

Good Evening All

Got the Party Barge (’65 Newport) out of dry dock today.
All the upgrades/tweaking done over he winter months checked out O.K. However, a new gremlin has appeared. The fuel tank reads empty.
Preliminary checks lead to the sending unit itself. The float was replaced a couple of years ago, along with with a solid state voltage limiter. Have continuity on the circuit board, so I am leaning toward the sending unit itself.
Lots of senders out there ranging from $45 to a…

Not sure where to post this – Auto Pilot cable question.

Good Morning All
I added a later style cruise control (turn signal lever actuated) to a ’65 Newport,
I am looking for the upper speedometer cable that connects the unit to the speedometer.
Does the earlier style auto pilot upper cable have the same nut on both ends of the cable? In other words the cable could be installed either way.
Looking for a 31″ cable and have found some, just not sure if the ends are the same.
Thanks for all replies.
