Door seals

Hi all, does anyone have a source for replacement door seals for my 76 2dr Newport? (a faint hope I know).

I’m not a purist so I welcome suggestions of cheap alternatives too.

My radiator gets damp at the top of the cores when it gets hot, it’s 45 years old so I’m hardly surprised.
The Spectra premium part# is CU506, Spectra now list this as obsolete and don’t produce it any more.
I found a site here in Canada (WrenchMonkey), that listed one as being “In Stock” so I ordered it, thinking it must be old stock sitting on the shelf, about 250 + taxes, free shipping.
They now tell me that it’s no longer produced (no s**t sherlock) and they can’t find anyone that does….

Carb to swap or not?

OK Friends, here’s the thing, when I got my 76 Newport it was hardly running, the previous owner told me he’d replaced the ign system, (which was evidently untrue) and it didn’t have the original Carter Thermoquad on it either.
I found that it had a TQ from a 318 lean burn motor so i hunted for and found a correct used carb which I put new seals and gaskets in and rebushed the throttle shaft.
Not knowing what had really been done to the ignition I put new plugs leads and distributor in and…

Newport glove compartment lock/catch

Hi all, a few weeks ago I was made a too attractive offer for my 67 Fury III hardtop so it went to a new home.

I am now the proud owner of a 76 Newport, 2dr with a 400 and 4 barrel.
I got it with only 1 key which fits roughly in the ignition but nowhere else, I can get new locks etc from rockauto so that’s no problem, but the glovebox lock/catch is broken and I haven’t seen one for sale anywhere, anyone got a source?

Well it’s time to spend a little money (emphasis on little) on the old girl, I fabbed a “Bitsa” exhaust for the Fury last year using a welded up Y pipe, a Thrush glasspack, and various bends, pipes and clamps, to create a single line that exits just in front of the right rear wheel, it works but it’s pleasing to neither eye nor ear.
So I’m looking for a complete system from the original Poly cast iron manifolds back.
I looked at tti with the idea of headers, but no point in that unless I’m…

What carb for my Fury’s 318 Poly?

Well I’m getting on with the Fury, it’s now running pretty well thanks to a new pertronix distributor (old one had over 30 thou lateral play at the cam ) new Accel coil (old one was a ballast coil with no resistor), plugs (broken tip insulators and bent contacts), Accel 8mm plug leads (originals held together with insulting tape).

So I’m thinking that if the dizzy is that worn, the original 2 barrel carb probably is too, which leads me to my question, what to replace it with?
