Tapered Axles

Hey Guys,

I am redoing the rear drums on my 64 New Yorker and am at a crossroads about what to do. Ideally, I’d like to get rid of these tapered axles so I can service them easier. I don’t have a problem with the drums, but I DO have a problem with the Drum/Hub assembly as one unit.

My stock Drum/Hub assembly is cracked so I have to replace it. I would like to do away with the tapered axles and install newer flange axles so I could slide on some drums without the hub attached (hope that…

Wheel Arch Repair

Hello Guys and Gals,

While I am working on my Front Disc Brake conversion, I am looking to restore both rear wheel arches on my 64 New Yorker. Someone bondo-ed the rear driver side up and after years it’s cracking and crappy looking. My welding experience is limited to the floor pans I redid, which came out nice for a 1st time welder-thank you Eastwood MIG.

Disc Brake Conversion 1964 New Yorker

Hello again guys,

Coincidentally enough, while deciding on what to do with my dual exhaust situation, I decided to cancel my order with SSBC for a Front Disc Brake Conversion kit (for a whopping $900+). Fact is, I placed the order on August 7th and here we are on October 12th (9 weeks later), nothing. The rep kept stringing me along, “we’re waiting on one more part, one more part, etc.”.

I finally had enough and cancelled the order. Long story short, I want to convert to discs in the…

1964 Dual Exhaust Question

Hello,

I have a 64′ New Yorker and want to install a dual exhaust and get rid of the ol Y pipe. The only systems I can find are for 64 Chrysler 300’s. Would this work on a New Yorker? The dimensions look the same. My New Yorker has a 383 (not a 413). If not, anyone know where I can find a dual exhaust for my New Yorker?

Thanks.

Welcome mikedrini to FCBO!

Recent owner of a 64′ New Yorker and I am loving the rebuild process.
