Voltage limiter, fuel & temp gauges, ’66 Sport Fury

As one of many Mopar owners plagued by the dreaded voltage limiter in use during the 60s, I decided to delve into getting my temp and fuel gauges working. I pulled the gauge set out of the dash and hooked 5 volts to the temp and fuel gauges. The temp gauge worked but the fuel gauge didn’t. *sigh* So I drilled out a couple rivets in the fuel gauge face and removed it. What do I find but a hair-thin wire burned off, leaving two stumps. The circles highlight the broken wire. The blue arrow…

1966 Sport Fury Stub Frame – what else does it fit, if anything?

I’m going to be parting out the below ’66 Sport Fury carcass and was wondering about the stub frame, if it will fit other years than just 1966, or possibly Dodge/Chrysler models (a bit of a stretch I’m thinking). I plan on selling the frame (and other parts when I get around to dismantling) and would like to be knowledgeable on what it might fit.

New ’66 Formula S Owner

Hey all, I thought I’d kind of introduce myself. I bought a C-body 5 years ago and joined all the good forums (FABO, FBBO, FCBO, FEBO) at the time. I’ve always been a Mopar guy (’61 300-G, ’65 B’cuda, ’70 Sport Satellite, ’70 RR) but was out of the game for 30 years before finally acquiring the C-body, a ’66 Sport Fury 383/4-speed, in 2013. However, a month or so ago I bought my brother’s 1966 Formula S, and have been working on getting it road-worthy. Some of you may recognize it….

1966 Plymouth Sport Fury 383 –> 4-speed <–

I am somewhat regretfully selling my Sport Fury. I’ve purchased a ’66 Formula S (from my brother), and as such, need to sell the SF.
I’m asking $7,900. The car is in Poulsbo, WA.

It’s a factory 383-325hp / 4-speed / “742” 3.23 open diff car. It has manual steering and brakes. The car runs well and drives/stops straight as an arrow. I found the broadcast sheet behind the back seat, and the fender tag and original Certicard are still under the hood. All numbers…

Vacuum advance canister for ’66 383?

Anyone know where I can find a vacuum advance canister for the stock 1966 383 in my Fury? I’ve searched the net and come up with only NOS parts for big bucks. Rock Auto only has canisters for ~1972 and newer big blocks. I found out yesterday my vacuum advance has a hole in the diaphragm. I think the lever on my canister is the type to have a hole in it like this:

’66 Sport Fury carpet and console refurb

I took the plunge and bought a carpet kit for the beast. And since the old console would look horrible with new carpeting, I redid the console too….

Photo op of the day…
