New to C bodies

Joined here not too long ago, lots of good info and folks around here. Just got my car on the road yesterday. Spent about 5 hours cleaning/washing/waxing it up. Got about 50 miles on the books already. Yes, I don’t like the wheels either but the stockers are toast. My speedo cable is good but (verified by drill) so do I need to swap out something in the tailshaft now?

66 trade deal

good morning and thanks for the add! I’m looking at possibly doing a trade deal tomorrow. I have a 74 charger that needs some work to be long distance road worthy ( floor pans are toast, k member needs replaced, rear crank seal installed incorrectly) and a person wants to trade me a 66 Newport. It’s all original (from what I can see) with 25k miles. I’m wondering if the deal is right for both sides? I put some time and $$$ into my 74 but I’m unsure if the deal is fair for both sides. Big thanks to all on here!

Just wanted to say a big thanks to you guys/gals in this forum. You helped make my life alot easier than most of the questions I posted on social media. I was born in internet forums really but they always seem to produce better information. Appreciate everyone’s responses to my many posts even though some of my questions were really simple. So hats off to everyone here, I’m only about three hours of work away to driving my car on the road, just waiting on some amazing prime parts to arrive!

Engine ran perfect, plugged carb vac line on back no run

First happy Easter if anyone sees this today. Title is lame I know, but really scratching my head, again. Built my 340, put on an asv2 650 carb on and fired it up yesterday. Thing ran amazing at first. With the earmuffs on I didn’t hear the vacuum leak i had at first. Stupid me forgot to plug the rear port for brake booster. Put the plug in, now I can’t even get an idle without holding it WOT.Took the plug out, same damn thing. What on Earth could I be missing? Has to be something stupid….

74 charger small block header install

Just dropped my 340 in, did it from top down. Didn’t put headers on first or set them in the bay. Is that the easiest method for install? Only have bell housing bolts in now, so wouldn’t be hard to remove and pick the engine up again. Seems almost impossible to get them in with the engine mounted. Thanks!
