Exhaust hangers- what’s original for 68
The talk about new exhaust systems on another thread got me investigating my exhaust hangers and wondering what is stock and what is universal in exhaust hangers. My 68 Dodge w/ 383 and single exhaust had this hanger. I added dual exhaust back in high school (late 80’s). And don’t remember what I kept of the original hanger or If I borrowed it off the donor car. The 70’s GM Donor car had a fairly new exhaust system and a blown engine. Proper Black wheel color for 68?
What is the proper wheel color for the std black steel rims? My first guess when looking through the FSM is that it would be the same as the black under stripes and accent color. Maybe I am wrong? I have looked at black satin wheel paint in the rattle can and is probably close enough. But if there’s an opportunity to do it correctly I like to go that direction first. What have others done?
Time for a small parts paint booth
After too many years of overspray and paint fumes, I finally built a small parts downdraft paint booth that will double as a sanding table for wood working.
I started with an extruded aluminum frame structure on rollers that I also use for my upholstery sewing machine.
I built a box with peg board on top and furnace filter below. Due to the channels in the side of the aluminum I was able to slide hardboard sides in to enclose the cabinet. I also got a 4″ ventilation fan with a charcoal…
Advice needed Resoration of corner bumper trim
I would like to re-new my bumper filler pieces on my 68 Polara. I have given up hope of finding new ones. So is ther e some sort of rubber filler that would work to fill in the cracks?
