Eastwood Flaring Tool Issue with Cupro-Nickel

I’m having issues getting good double flares using the Eastwood turret flaring tool with 3/16 cupro-nickel brake line. It’s a two stage process, first form a bubble flare and second op creates the double flange. I’ve done them with this tool in the past with steel line but I’ve having a hell of a time getting a round result now. After the first op forming the bubble flare, the result is eliptical/oval when you look at it head on and on the backside which should be 45 degrees has a goofy…

Selecting cam to work with A/C

What do I need to keep in mind when selecting a cam for my 340 that will see significant street, Auto-X, and road course driving, but I would like to be able to run an aftermarket Vintage Air type air conditioning unit to keep it comfortable in summer….

Cuda Drip Rails

I know they are available in the aftermarket (~$200) but am looking to see if anyone has a set of decent drip rails that fit a 73 Cuda. I really only need the front 12"-18" or so, especially on the driver side to patch mine, but will take wh…

Different carbs on dual tunnel ram

Can I use different model but same size carbs on a TR5 tunnel ram that is street driven? The main difference being type choke. I’ve got a 650 AVS2 1906 with electric choke already and a friend has a manual choke version 1905 that I could get a good deal on to put on the dual carb top tunnel ram I’m looking to play with. Never played with duals and not sure if I could just use the electric choke on the one or would I need to connect the manual choke as well? Not going to be a ton of…

Electric window lifts

Looking for feedback on aftermarket power front window lifts, specifically from A1 Electric, or any others that may be available. Main concerns are fit, durability, and speed. Are they fixed speed or can that be adjusted? I’ve seen some on other brand …

HFT vs SFT Cam Identification

Can I determine if a cam is a solid or hydraulic by some feature on the lobes or something else? I have a cam that came in a 65 273 Commando short block but there were no lifters or heads, just the cam, pistons, rods, and crank. It looks like it is in pretty good condition and from measuring the intake lobe it seems to have .313″ lobe lift, which would be .470″ lift with 1.5 rocker. That’s a bit more lift than stock and if I can figure out whether it is SFT or HFT I might use it in my 340…

Herbert Solid Roller Lifters?

Any feedback on the Herbert solid roller lifters for LA’s? They have T6172 bushed for ~$1100 and TEV (needle bearing?) for $400. Haven’t heard anything about these before.
