Plug wires for FBO system

I am considering getting the FBO module and dizzy disc. I need to get two new plug wires with 45/90 degree heads at plug end due to new header interference on the 340. I want to know if there is a specific wire type recommended for use with FBO and if so I’ll replace the whole set. The 7mm wires I have are new but generic so I don’t know what they really are. I have an order waiting to go in at Jeg’s and would like to get the wires in that tomorrow. So, what’s a good wire set these…

850 Thermoquad worth the effort?

An acquaintance has an 850 Thermoquad Competition Series #4846 that is still new in the box that he’ll let me have for $100. He has no use for it and isn’t into selling stuff on the net. Would this carb be worth the effort to try on my 70 340? I know that rebuild kits are available but the tuning parts seem to be hard to come by? My understanding is that the TQ can be a great carb but tuning is a bit different than a Holley. Car currently has a Holley 650 DP on it. Seems OK after I…

Cool Slant six Intake on Craigslist

Not mine, no affiliation, hope it’s OK to post it here. Ran across this cool slant six intake/carb setup. Maybe it’s the worst performing one ever made, but it sure looks nice. He also has a nice valve cover.

Tunnel Ram on Street?

Are those tunnel rams going to give the best low end response on a street driven motor with a couple of small carbs.? I’m looking into some W2 heads for my 340 and may be able to get a Mopar dual tunnel ram to go with them. Wouldn’t be a max effort cam, need to be streetable with an automatic and PS/PB. Probably would go with a solid lifter. Should be a 10:1 engine if it’s still got the original 1970 pistons, yet to be verified. Worth trying the tunnel or stick with a lower profile…

Preferred U-joint supplier?

I need to measure but I think my 727 to 8 3/4" driveshaft takes a 7620 type u-joint on each end. Is there a preferred mfg or any to stay away from? PN or supplier recommendations appreciated. Moog for instance has several flavors. Greasable or…
